Ensembles

 The Chancel Choir
Rehearses: Wednesday nights 7:00-8:15 PM (Choir room)
Warm up: Sunday mornings 10:30-10:50 AM (Choir room)

The Chancel Choir is the adult vocal choir and main ensemble of FUMC, Corsicana. It is made up of approximately 24 singers with various backgrounds. The Chancel Choir sings every Sunday morning for 10:50 Traditional worship service throughout the year. They sing anthems ranging from classical to gospel in nature and provide leadership during hymn singing. They also prepare and present two major works each year, at Easter and Christmas, which are accompanied by strings, woodwinds, organ and piano. We invite "part time singers" to join us for these presentations—that is, individuals who enjoy singing with the choir but can't commit to weekly rehearsals and performances throughout the year. Membership in the Chancel Choir is open to all, without audition. Music reading is not necessary.   The Chancel Choir is directed and accompanied by Chris Johnson

The Adult Handbell Choir
Rehearses: Wednesday nights 6:00-7:00 PM (Choir room)

The Handbell choir plays four octaves of Schulmerich bells and four octaves of choir chimes. They rehearse each Wednesday night in the choir room at 6:00 PM and play in worship services about once a month. They play during the school year and take the summer off. The bell choir also occasionally plays for weddings and special services. The bells were recently refurbished and are like new! Membership in the bell choir is open to all who can commit to rehearsals. Music reading is not necessary.  Karen Compton directs the handbell choir.
